I had breakfast and then hit the road at 9:50. The room was noisy and did not sleep well. Also, the owner was an extremely nice person. The Azeris, in general are very friendly and seem to be very nice.

The hotel

I did not make it to the city of Yevlakh yesterday but this would have been the way

I biked 20 kms on he highway till I made my first gaz stop. The wind so far was good to me, for the first time, and unlike all the days since I entered Azerbaijan was not blowing in my face. I could move fast. Unfortunately, the good luck did not last for too long. I left at 11:36.

I passed by Ucar, which had been yesterday’s goal but did not enter the town.

My next tea stop (32 k) was at a restaurant by the side of the road, which was actually out in the open air. I left at 13:30

The highway

Biked on and at 52 km was almost dragged from the road to share fruit and tea w/ a group of kids and adults.

At 70 kms I had a long underpass napping break. Left at 18:15

I biked on. I had another 22 kms left, to meet my goal and it was getting late. Even though I was tired, biking at this hour is a lot easier. No scorching sun and very little head wind.

Entering Kurdemir

By asking around I found a good and well priced (10 euros) hotel, Hotel Elite.
