We got up rather late. A wonderful breakfast was waitig for us. To Chris;s surprise, Kio was there. Kio was the guy Chris had met three years ago, who was at Trapzon working. Well, soon as he found out that Chris was there, he took the overnight bus and therehe was.

All of us w/ the Panidzes

The unusual thing for breakfast was that there was wine on the table which was readily consumed by Kio.

Magnificent view from the house

We hit the road at 11:30 with Khulo as our destination

The never ending road to khulo

For most of the time we were riding along a river

At some point, of course we had to stop for lunch

Even though I thought we were the only bikers on the road, there comes a Czeck rider from the oposite direction. He had been riding for a month in Georgia and was headed to Batumi to take the plane and go home.

The never ending road

Second lunch stop

The river on the side of the road

The goal was to make it to Khulo. However, our info was conflicting. Navigation did not work in Georgia and all my GPS gave was the distance to Khulo. It turned out, however that it was a bird;s eye view distance. So we did not really know how far we were. It was getting dark and I was getting really exhausted from the continuous uphill. To remind you, I haven’t biked since last summer. So, when Chris and Dea proposed that we camp out I was happy to consent.

There was public work done in the area, so we got permission from a guard to camp within one of the areas that was overseeing.

The workers were there getting ready to go. To show how thankful we were we produced two of the three bottles of wine that Gio had offered us as we were leaving this morning and they immediatelly prepared something to eat to go along with the wine and the cha-cha they contributed.
